The function of the CNC system of a CNC vertical drilling machine is very important, and when choosing a CNC system, we need to consider the following factors.
1、 Driving ability
The power range and supporting motor range of the servo system vary among different CNC suppliers' solutions. Firstly, a preliminary screening should be conducted based on the types and power ranges of compatible motors. Especially, it is important to pay attention to whether the CNC machine tool plan includes torque motors, linear motors, whether the electric spindle belongs to synchronous or asynchronous electric spindles, the rated current and overload current requirements of the above motors, and the maximum speed requirements of the electric spindle.
2、 Full closed-loop demand and dual drive demand
Most CNC vertical drilling machines, especially large and heavy-duty CNC machines, have full closed-loop and dual drive requirements. In the full closed-loop control scheme, it is necessary to choose between distance encoded gratings, absolute value gratings, and ordinary incremental gratings, while the CNC system also supports corresponding feedback signal access.
3、 Five axis control requirements
Five axis machine tools need to clarify whether they require five axis linkage or only five sided machining, and the corresponding selection of CNC system functions also varies. For example, for the processing of five sided boxes, RTCP is usually not required, and there is a greater choice. At the same time, CNC system suppliers must carefully consider export licenses, after-sales services, technical support, and other aspects that may be involved in the five axis function.
4、 Production system requirements
The networked support of CNC systems has become a necessary condition for the integration of production systems. For CNC vertical drilling machines that need to be included in highly automated production systems, it is necessary to clarify that the CNC system has corresponding access solutions, including low-level relying on PLC input and output points to directly connect to the advanced CNC system's built-in OPC server, and opening the internal data of the CNC system to users according to OPC standards. In addition, for production systems, automated online workpiece detection and tool detection are also essential functions that must be supported.
